Senior Data Engineer.
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a global data and analytics organization and help build the foundational data layer powering large-scale App & Omnichannel platforms for a leading international retail and consumer brand.
The current focus of the organization is modernizing and scaling the enterprise data platform, improving data ingestion performance from SAP HANA into Snowflake, strengthening data validation processes, and supporting the migration from legacy SnowSQL-based pipelines toward a modern DBT-driven architecture.
You will become part of a multidisciplinary data ecosystem involving Snowflake engineers, Data Integration specialists, architects, and analytics teams working together on complete end-to-end use cases. The goal is to help accelerate delivery while enabling the core platform teams to focus on foundational platform development and data platform hygiene.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong engineering fundamentals with modern cloud data stack expertise, automation mindset, and a passion for building scalable and maintainable data platforms.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines and transformation workflows
- Improve and optimize data ingestion performance from SAP HANA into Snowflake
- Contribute to modernization of the enterprise data platform architecture
- Support migration from legacy SnowSQL pipelines toward DBT-based transformation workflows
- Build and optimize scalable transformation layers in Snowflake
- Develop advanced SQL transformations and reusable Jinja2 templating logic
- Collaborate with Data Integration engineers and architects on end-to-end data solutions
- Support data validation and data quality initiatives across the platform
- Build reliable orchestration and automation workflows using AWS services
- Develop Python-based tooling, validations, and data processing components
- Implement automated testing and quality validation using Pytest and DBT testing frameworks
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and batch workloads
- Improve CI/CD processes and deployment automation for data infrastructure
- Build infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform
- Support observability and operational monitoring through CloudWatch and logging solutions
- Contribute to engineering standards, code reviews, and platform best practices
- Collaborate in globally distributed engineering and analytics teams

What We’re Looking For
Required Skills
- Strong experience with Snowflake and modern cloud data warehouses
- Advanced SQL knowledge with experience writing complex and optimized queries
- Hands-on experience with DBT and transformation-based data engineering workflows
- Strong Python development skills
- Experience building automated testing and validation frameworks using Pytest or similar tools
- Experience with AWS-based data workloads and serverless components
- Understanding of CI/CD principles and automation pipelines
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
- Experience working with Docker and containerized environments
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills
- Experience working with enterprise-scale data pipelines
- Ability to work independently in distributed international teams
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Experience working with SAP HANA or enterprise ERP ecosystems
- Experience with Data Integration platforms and ingestion tooling
