Last week, our team traveled to Amsterdam to attend HEMA Digital Days, a key event held every four months where stakeholders align on what their product lines will develop in the next cycle. Driven by the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), this event fosters collaboration, strategic alignment, and cross-team awareness.
📅 Day 1: Strategy & Alignment
With 16+ presentations running in parallel across three rooms, the first day was packed with insights. It was a great opportunity to:
✅ Understand the complexity of other departments
✅ Recognize dependencies between different teams
✅ Align timelines and expectations for upcoming initiatives
This structured planning ensures that every team contributes effectively to HEMA’s omnichannel transformation while staying ahead of market demands.
📅 Day 2: Knowledge Sharing & Tech Trends
The second day was all about learning! Highlights included:
🎤 Mauro Rallo – Presentation on Architecture Updates
🔍 Amazon Web Services (AWS)– Insights on Microfrontends and AWS Bedrock for scalable AI applications
🛠️ Kong – Demonstration of Automated API Testing
After these insightful presentations, our team had the opportunity to explore HEMA‘s store and photo design studios and test lab, gaining a behind-the-scenes look at how products are developed and marketed.
To wrap up the event, we gathered for a team dinner, celebrating collaboration, shared learnings, and future opportunities.
For us at Brighting, events like these are invaluable—not only do they strengthen our collaboration with HEMA, but they also keep us at the forefront of emerging technologies that drive real business impact.
