What we collect and why
When you contact us
If you email us or send a message through the site, we process the details you provide — such as your name, email address and the content of your message — for the sole purpose of responding to you and, where relevant, discussing possible work together. Legal basis: your consent and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement.
Website analytics
If you allow analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to see, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it. This is opt-in: analytics is only loaded after you agree in the cookie banner, and never if you reject or make no choice. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site, acting on our instructions under data-processing agreements:
- Google (Google Analytics), for the aggregated usage statistics above — only if you allow analytics.
- Cloudflare, which hosts and delivers the site.
- Our email provider, when you contact us by email.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for as long as needed to handle your request and our relationship, and then no longer than necessary. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings. Your cookie choice stays on your device until you clear it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict or transfer your personal data, and you can object to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise a right, email info@brighting.nl. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss or unauthorised access.
Changes
We may update this statement from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
