Cookie policy
This page explains the cookies and similar storage (such as browser local storage) that brighting.nl uses, and how you can control them. For how we handle personal data more broadly, see our privacy statement.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. We also use your browser's local storage in a similar way. Together they let a site remember things — for example, the cookie choice you make here.
What we use
Necessary (always on)
We store your cookie choice so we do not ask again on every visit. This is kept in your browser's local storage under the key brighting-consent. It contains only your preference (whether analytics is allowed), stays on your device, and is not used to track you.
Analytics (only if you allow it)
If you choose "Accept" or switch analytics on, we load Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used (which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, what devices they use). This helps us improve the site. Google Analytics sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_<id>, which typically expire after up to two years.
Analytics is opt-in: if you reject, or make no choice, Google Analytics is never loaded and these cookies are not set. We do not use cookies for advertising or marketing.
| Item | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
brighting-consent | Necessary (local storage) | Remembers your cookie choice | Until you clear it |
_ga, _ga_<id> | Analytics (opt-in) | Google Analytics 4 usage statistics | Up to 2 years |
Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookies button at the bottom of the page, then choosing Accept, Reject, or Manage. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser settings.
Third parties
Analytics data is processed by Google. The site is hosted on Cloudflare. See our privacy statement for more on how data is shared and your rights.
