Brighting was started in 2022 by people who have been the CIO, the CTO and the agency. We hired agencies and been disappointed by them, and we know exactly how that happens.

So we built the partner we had been looking for: senior engineers only in Amsterdam and Novi Sad, no bench, and a team that judges success based on results.

Why senior-only is the better choice

Big suppliers have a bench, and a bench has to be emptied. That is where a brief gets accepted without being challenged, and where the solution always seems to be to add more people.

We do the opposite, on purpose. We argue with the brief before we quote it, because the stated problem is usually not the constraint. Every engineer we put on your team is senior, because we have no bench to fill and we take on fewer engagements than we are asked to.

We stay after launch - if you want it. Running what we built keeps us honest about how we built it, and it is the reason our customers are still customers years later. We are measured on what changed in the business, not on how many hours we billed.

We are not the biggest, and we take on fewer engagements than we are asked to. If you need forty people next month, or you want a fixed price for a scope nobody has questioned yet, we are the wrong call. If you want four senior engineers who will tell you the truth about your platform, we are the right one.

Why Novi Sad, and why it is not about cost

Novi Sad is a university city with a deep engineering market and a working day that overlaps ours completely. We hire there for the same reason we hire in Amsterdam: the people are good. It is a quality decision that happens to cost less, not a cost decision that we hope will still be good enough.

Everyone is employed by us, permanently. No name on a CV that turns into a different person in week three. Engineers work directly with your team, in your language, in your process.

There is no bench, which is the part that changes everything else. Nobody is waiting to be sold, so nobody has to be sold as more senior than they are. It also means we say no more often than we would like to.
